Overview: A recent acquisition of the Burnett Group, Kalang was purchased in 2008 by Kalang Pastoral Company. Kalang is considered by many as premier Mistake Creek growing and finishing beef cattle country. It is held in two freehold leases and complements Monteagle by not only sharing a common boundary for several kilometres, but also by providing a good balance of finishing country, improved pastures and a reliable water supply with potential drought mitigation through irrigation. More intensive grazing systems are managed to improve pasture production.
"I worked with the Burnett Group for over 5 years and can not speak highly enough of the support and guidance that I received in this time. I was initially employed as a Stationhand, however then moved into the Headstockman position at Frankfield. My partner Holly and I were sad to leave, but we have left with a great memories and the knowledge to pursue other interests in the beef cattle industry."
