History

Frankfield Stockhorses is the horse breeding operation that exists within the Burnett Group. The foundation to the stud came with Frankfield when it was purchased in 2003. Many of the Broodmares in the stud come from Stanbroke Pastoral Company bloodlines, which were proven work and performance horses. In the last eight years other outside bloodlines have been added to the Broodmare herd, which is now made up of 22 mares with sires and grand-sires including Abbey, McNamara Acrobat, Warrenbri Romeo, Rosebrook Zulu, Driscolls Serenity, Blue Moon Mystic, Rivoli Rex, Rivoli Ray, Rosebrook Shantung and Kirkbys Stud Remedy.

In 2009 Cooinda Acres of Det was purchased with an aim to develop the stud genetics even further. Det was succesfully campaigned by Scott Schoo in 2009/2010, with placings in both Stockman Challenges and Campdrafts.

The Burnett Group is looking to continue breeding quality stockhorses for cattle work within the company, as well as producing performance horses for campdrafting and sales.

Testimonials

"I worked with the Burnett Group for over 5 years and can not speak highly enough of the support and guidance that I received in this time. I was initially employed as a Stationhand, however then moved into the Headstockman position at Frankfield. My partner Holly and I were sad to leave, but we have left with a great memories and the knowledge to pursue other interests in the beef cattle industry."
